7 Things To Do If You're Feeling Overwhelmed

I recently read an article in Forbes Online written for leaders and people in management positions titled, “7 Things To Do If You’re Feeling Overwhelmed.”

 

The first paragraph caught my attention and I wondered if the author had my life in mind when she crafted it?

 

“Too much to do, too little time to do it, too many people making demands upon your time, all with conflicting agendas.  Sound familiar”

 

“Yes, Yes”, I cried, as I continued to read the article. “I seem to have much to do, and little time in which to do it.” But isn’t that a problem that so many of us in leadership positions share?

 

The Article outlined 7 actions that you can take when you are feeling overwhelmed.

   

  1. Only do what only you can do - many leaders spend to much time doing what others could or should be doing.Make meetings count - meetings can be wasted time or valuable time.
  2. Stay conscious - focus on the task at hand
  3. Question your assumptions - does an activity really need to be done.
  4.  Find time to think.
  5. Get real support.
  6. Learn to say no.

    7 good ideas here, I think I'll  put them to practice, when I find the time.
